My certificate and prize taken on a cell phone. And…
I won!
I was also awarded the Blog of the year award by the judges and IBM, who sponsored it. I was also runner-up in the IT Professional Female category which was won by Basheera Khan. Derek Huether’s blog The Critical Path, which is a great resource for project management, was runner-up.
All the results can be found on the Computer Weekly website. They also have the presentation and photos. I have better photos of Delfina than this one. @swanny, in her fancy frock, wins the award for best gadget blog. Keep an eye out for the video, which will feature me slightly drunk talking about how excited I am to have won a beautiful iPad.
Without your votes, I wouldn’t have been able to do it. So thank you for your support over the past 12 months and for voting for me in the last month. It’s a great feeling to have won. It really means a lot that people appreciate my blog and what I do here.
Computers for Schools in Kenya was the charity aspect of this year’s awards. They raised enough money for almost a whole classroom to be equipped with refurbished computers. You can still donate at the Just Giving page.
Now, I’m off to play on my new iPad!
**Updated 20/11/10** Karl, one of the IBM’ers present at the ceremony, recorded a video of me accepting my award. You can watch it here. It was wonderful to be able to see it again, as it seemed like everything happened so quickly.
